"WENGER Synergy Black/Grey 15.4"
The Swiss gear back pack is one that I personally own and use on a regular basis, it is one of a handful of packs that I would not be without.
It has so many pockets that to fill them all makes for a heavy bag, but thanks to the great construction and well designed carrying system, it's no real hardship when full.
This is typically what goes in it
Mac, Archos, SLR camera & lenses, Chargers & leads, Batteries, P2D 100 & L0D 80, Phone, Pair Jeans, Socks, Boxers, T-Shirts, Crag Hoppers Water proof, Bush hat, (Hydration pack empty when flying), Business Cards, Doctors Coat, Stethascope, Radio Mike and a few other bits of crap. it does a great job getting me from A to B.
Check out the video to see just how full I can get this,
and the next to show how quick I pack, properly.
2007 saw me travel to Las Vegas (Virgin Atlantic), Rhodes (Olympic Airlines & Aegean Air), Paris (EasyJet), Dublin (Ryan Air), Menorca (First Choice) and I've done a lot of walking when I got there. By the way, I entertain for a living too, it gets me around a bit :o)
My Point? This bag is a great traveller and fits easily in the hand luggage of all the above airlines. Full too!
By the way,ALL the pictures are ones that I took of my backpack, used, abused and unwashed...look at it. Its worn well I'd say, after travelling over 20k miles, been in countless airports, planes, taxies, hotels, brothels, just kidding, not brothels.
I had enough people asking me which bag I took to vegas, I thought I'd put them on the site, it comes well recommended.

The one thing I don't like about this bag is it doesnt have a Hip Belt. So the weight is always on your shoulders.
If very full, it can get a bit tiresome, but then I didn't get it for hiking. But, when sensibly packed (ie, not as much crap as I carry around) it really is a joy to run around with. Even it is full, I can sit on it and watch a movie, so who gives a crap.
Storage 9/10
(Loads of Pockets, you'll totally forget you have your Gerber Multitool in there and when at Athens Airport they will stop you and hold up the whole line for 20 minutes until they find the offensive weapon, then drop it in the bin before yours tired and stupid eyes. GodDammit, I loved that Gerber. Idiot, I know I should have checked properly, still, it got as far as London to Athens, then Rhodes, back to Athens the the bin, ho hum.)
Build Quality 9/10
Look at the size of the zips, bloody huge.
Comfort 9/10 (unless REALLY FULL, then 7/10)
Manfacturer: Wenger Swiss Army Knife Folk (Made in China, huh? what isn't)
Favorite Compartment: The top pocket, it's supposed to be for the MP3 player, I wouldn't be seen dead walking around with headphones on so I fill it with sweets, chocolate, gum and Cookies. Yummy.
Least Favorite Compartment: The Top Pocket, I feel sick.
