GlowGadgets started in Clubs, Free Parties & Festivals 10 years ago with clubbers and ravers who were buying Glowsticks and other Glowing Gear. Wanna See Some pictures?
It became a UK glow company selling clubbers toys, glowstix, uv jewellery online, Worldwide. Most customers came from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and UK.
10 Years on, I’m a Father, Husband, Director (and VAT collector.) running business from home & spending time with my family.
GlowGadgets is now part of the Buy with Confidence Scheme and is Trading Standards Approved. Here is the Certificate.
"Doc" is operator, buyer, seller, bill payer, customer service, trouble shooter, packaging person, mail room guy & web slave (there are NO Web Masters) of GlowGadgets.com. Doc has been his nick name since school (1979 in fact). His real name is Chris Taylor. Though, everyone who is anyone call’s him Doc... you’re someone aren’t you?, then call him Doc.
"Now that GlowGadgets has taken over, I usually perform shows within Europe and sometimes Worldwide. Mostly I do the odd gig for Private parties, Corporate events and such like. Keeps me busy :o)"

GlowGadgets is a thriving family business (thank you everyone ;). Doc wanted to become self employed so he could be with his two beautiful baby daughters Rosie and Molly as much as possible.
He didn’t want to miss out on their growing up. He was there from conception (phew, lucky that) to both Births, First Green Ucky Nappies, First Solid food, First Words, First Steps, First Everything and thanks to GlowGadgets.com he hasn’t missed any of it. He’s glad he packed in his world travels, late nights, parties, raves and other stuff, to be with them around the clock.
GlowGadgets was nothing but a dream for years, and he never thought it would happen. He was entertaining in Venues around the World and never got the chance to sit down in front of a PC, until 1998.
In 2006 GlowGadgets.com Ltd was born and now all our ventures run under that name. So no longer a little Sole Trader, we are now a Limited Company and VAT registered. Great for other business’s who like to trade with us. Now we have some very important companies who rely on us to provide them with quality products for professionals.
Doc still does everything, from replying to emails, to packing the orders and everything in between.

I’m more into Camping Outdoors that Clubbing at Raves these days (You can’t get me away from the Music: Drum n Bass, HardStyle, Hardcore, Break Beat and Trance. Not all at once!) This is reflected by what I have instore. Some would say "What An Odd Selection"

How long has GlowGadgets.com been around?
"GlowGadgets.co.uk started off in 2001 as an original idea by my girlfriend Jane. We tried loads of different names for the website, but chose this one because we searched different Search Engines for "GlowGadgets" and nothing came up, anywhere. It was so original, we went for it, and here we are.
Now do a search and you will see every glow company and their dog using it as a way to attract visitor to their websites. Bless their cotton socks, we ain’ t big, but they look up to us you know.
Back then, Jane wanted me at home (when I wasn’t out raving), where she could keep an eye on me. After all that time in front of my PC, making the website, fulfilling orders, keeping my customers happy, having babies (Jane helped a bit) etc..
She sometimes wishes she kept her big mouth shut. Bless her, I couldn’t do it any of it without her. To cheer Jane up I say: "You should be happy my love, not every woman gets to have as many Glowsticks as you do!" Ah, she does laugh, as she’s slapping me round the head with a Laserpod.

Bio-Degradable Bubblewrap
Recently I was thinking "what happens to all the bubblewrap I use when it gets to the customer?" I made guesses and then I asked my customers and they said:
"It goes in the Bin" or "I pop the bubbles for fun, then it goes in the bin" one bloke told me he uses it insulate his caravan. Fair enough, each to his own.
Generally speaking, I was horrified, at what I was doing. Sending this non degradable plastic to people that they had to dispose of, just to protect whatever it was they bought. Then filling up the ground with plastic that wont go away.
"Mmm, I wonder if you can get Bio-Degradable Bubblewrap?"
Turns out, that until recently you couldn’t, but I did a search, made a phone call and got chatting witha bloke called Brian.
Brian started making his own Bubblewrap in 1983 makes Bio-Degradable packaging from the Bubblewrap to Recycled boxes and packaging for Fruit.
I got a few rolls of the stuff from him, and not only does it do a grand job protecting my products, it degrades in 90 days and is just the job for sticking in the compost heap.
GlowGadgets use now uses Bio-Degradable Bubblewrap as of 23/10/07. Bubblewrap is the stuff that protects all the orders we send out, you can spot it as it’s GREEN in colour. If you have been sent your order the Clear white bubblewrap, then that is not degradable and I don’t use it anymore. That stuff needs to be recycled. Sorry to everyone for useing it all this time, I am mortified.
This stuff is great and I’ve has been using it since 2006.
100% recycled paper, its used for all my Receipts, Invoices, Packing Slips and whatever else needs paper (not loo paper, thats different) It’s pure white, prints lovely and you couldn’t tell it apart from non recycled.

GlowGadgets Re-Cycled Flyers
The flyers I have printed that go in every package I send, are made from Re-Cycled card or Card from Sustainable Forests, it is not bleached and printed using Vegatable Based Inks.
The Printing company that I have used for years is OutOfHand.co.uk in Bristol.
Please tell them Doc sent you, they will give you a great deal on flyers and do a fantastic job too (and fast).

Ethical Banking

Eggs, I love em. The yummy things you can make with eggs are many, but where do these eggs come from?
If you say a Chicken, I swear I will slap you.
Do you buy CHEAP eggs, you know "Battery Farmed" eggs? If you say yes, then let me point you in this direction: Visit The Battery Hen Welfare Trust
They would love to show you how you can NOT BUY BATTERY EGGS as it’s just WRONG!
BUT Maybe you buy your eggs and make sure it says FREE RANGE on the box, good for you, so do I. I always felt good doing that, knowing the cute little hens are having a whale of a time, running round in the fields and bushes, laying eggs with gay abandon and being generally happy little layers.
BUT WAIT... What about all the stuff you eat that is MADE WITH HIDDEN EGGS, like Bread, Pasta, Custard Tarts, Cakes, Ready Meals, Baby Food & CHOCOLATE etc..
Where do those eggs come from? Do you think they use the more expensive (and morally correct) FREE RANGE EGGS, or maybe they use BATTERY FARMED EGGS.
Anyway, have a look, pass it on and think about the Battery Farmed Egg that has gone into that Cadburys Cream Egg you’re munching on.
