What are Glowsticks?

They started life as emergency lighting for the Military. Based on the Chemiluminescence that is naturally occurring in some insects that glow in the dark.

What uses do they have?

Glowsticks are used by Emergency services, Sports People, Campers, Divers etc... Always handy to keep in the house or glove box in case of powercuts or breakdowns. Kids love them too!

Why do clubbers use them?

Glowsticks really caught on in the late 1980's as ravers got our glowsticks from camping shops. So we could wave them around at raves. They leave light trails that look great when we are dancing.

How do they work?

Glow sticks contain two different non toxic chemicals that when mixed together, create light. There is a glass bubble inside the stick that contains one chemical and that is surrounded by another. When a glow stick is bent slightly, the glass bubble is snapped and the two chemicals mix together. Un cracked they have a shelf life of up to two years.

How long do they glow?

There are many kinds of glowsticks and they glow for different lengths. Ours will glow for 12 hours.

What size and type are the Glowsticks?

These are the 6 inch, tapered type. With a hook and a hole.

What is the difference between bulk wrapped & foil wrapped glow sticks?

There is no difference between wrapped and unwrapped glow sticks, they are exactly the same make and quality. Only the wrapping is for "Retail" sales (so they can be displayed singularly in shops etc..)

Bulk wrapped are ideal for selling in clubs as there are no wrappers to dispose of.
