"EDC" ring any bells? It stands for "Every Day Carry". This is just what my Fenix P1DCE has become.
Now this doesnt mean I dont use other torches for different jobs, because I do. However, the Fenix Cree (with the 7090 XR-E chip) is a very Special bit of kit. Anyone who has seen it agrees.
I am not going to use any superlatives about the P1D CE Cree, because when it comes to big words, they just aint big enough to tell you how good this torch is.
You may want me to rant and rave about the features and power of such a small flashlight. I refuse to be drawn, you wouldn't belive me anyway. Really, if I told you, you'd think I'd suffered a blunt force trauma.
What you need to do is ask yourself one question and then answer it like this "Oh my God yes, yes, yes"
The question would be: "Do I want a powerful torch, that's the size of my thumb, and will out shine nearly every torch I have for less than 40 quid?"
Beleive me, if I was good enough with words, I might be able to convince you to buy one. I'm not a salesman, I'm just a flashlight geek. It makes no difference to me if you get one or not (apart from my bank balance), but it will make a difference to you. A big difference and a very small package.
You have 30 days no quibble guarantee and nothing to lose, except face if you don't go for it. You will be seriously happy, or your money back.
Heck, do a search, go to Candle Power Forums and see what they are all saying about it. Those guys really know what they are on about.
The Fenix P1D CE is a digitally controlled constant current multilevel flashlight Fenix has to offer. It has five modes: Primary -> Max -> Low -> Strobe Mode -> SOS Mode, which not only allows the user to select the best compromise between brightness and runtime for any given task but also has ability to aid in an emergency. The P1D CE does all this and still retains a very compact size.
If you're looking for solid reliability, digitally regulated brightness, and compact size, this Fenix is for you.
Changing the modes: rotate the head of the flashlight clockwise to turn it on. A counter-clockwise turn will then switch it off. To shift between modes, turn the light on, then off. Within 1.5 seconds after being turned off, turn it on again and it will move to the next mode. Repeat the on-off cycle to continue changing mode. Leave the light off for more than 1.5 seconds and the light will turn completely off.

The Fenix P1D CE comes complete with Keyring, Holster and Extra O Rings (I have been told that Fenix flashlights do tend eat O Rings for breakfast, hence the extras you get. Though I am still using the original in mine. I think if you bother to use grease to help lube the ring, you will be fine.)
